Mumbai, Aug. 24 -- Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray today instructed party workers to conduct door-to-door verification of voter lists ahead of the upcoming municipal elections, amid allegations of large-scale electoral malpractices.

Addressing Shiv Sena workers during his visit to the party's Branch No. 4 in Dahisar yesterday as part of ongoing election preparations, Thackeray said, "Our votes are being stolen. Therefore, go to every household and carefully verify the voter lists. This is a responsibility you must handle very seriously."He instructed party members to "check the lists with utmost diligence."The directive comes against the backdrop of recent allegations of voter fraud raised by opposition leaders.
