Mumbai, Sept. 17 -- Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray today condemned the desecration of his mother Meenatai Thackeray's statue at the Shivaji Park here.
The statue was desecrated this morning by unidentified persons who threw red paint over it.
Speaking to the media after visiting Shivaji Park, Thackeray suggested that the intention behind desecrating his mother's statue could have been "to set Maharashtra on fire."Meenatai Thackeray, the wife of late Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray, passed away in 1995. She is revered by Shiv Sena workers and her statue has stood at Shivaji Park for several years.
