Udaipur, May 14 -- The Udaipur Marble Association, representing Asia's largest marble market, on Wednesday announced a ban on imports of marble and related products from Turkiye in response to the country's open support to Pakistan following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

Kapil Surana, chairman of the Udaipur Marble Processors Committee, stated that the association took this decision in a meeting. He said that marble traders from the Udaipur-Rajsamand region have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, informing him that they are stopping imports from Turkiye on their own and urging the Centre to sever all trade ties with Turkiye.
