Dubai, Aug. 3 -- The first passenger railway in the United Arab Emirates, Etihad Rail, will be launched in 2026, the first stations will be located in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Fujairah, Dubai Media Office said.
On Saturday, UAE Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum made an inspection tour of the railway from Dubai to Fujairah.
"This journey marks a historic milestone and a pivotal phase in the development and operation of the UAE's national railway network, with the passenger train expected to commence commercial operations in 2026," the press service of the Dubai government said.
