Abu Dhabi, March 10 -- The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned a terrorist drone attack that targeted its Consulate General in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, causing material damage but no reported injuries.

In a statement on Tuesday, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the attack as an "unprovoked act of terrorism" and stressed that targeting diplomatic missions constitutes a serious violation of international norms and laws.

The ministry said such attacks "breach the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which guarantees the inviolability of diplomatic premises and the protection of diplomatic personnel."
