Sharjah (UAE), Dec. 22 -- Home favorite Stefan Arand captured his first Grand Prix victory Sunday as American Shaun Torrente clinched his fourth UIM F1H2O World Championship despite failing to finish the season finale at Khalid Lagoon.

Held at Khalid Lagoon, the season finale began with 19 drivers launching at full throttle, but the race was quickly neutralized after Stromoy Racing Team's Bartek Marszalek flipped his boat, prompting a yellow-flag stoppage. After the restart, Sweden's Jonas Andersson moved into the lead, with Victory Team's Shaun Torrente close behind as the world title battle remained finely balanced.
