New Delhi, Feb. 21 -- Public sector Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) on Friday said that UAE-based Dipon Gulf General Contracting LLC has filed an arbitration claim against it for $29.67 million.
As per a stock exchange filing by BHEL, Dipon Gulf General Contracting has invoked arbitration for additional amounts on account of alleged additional work carried out in respect of the contracts executed at Maitree Project, Bangladesh.
BHEL has however rejected the claim, maintaining that Dipon Gulf General Contracting did not perform any additional work over and above the contractual scope of work.
"Other claims are also not tenable as per contract provisions," BHEL said in the filing to stock exchanges BSE and NSE.
