Kannur, Sept. 11 -- The Taliparamba forest officials arrested two youths for capturing and cooking a python in a kitchen of the house at Panapuzha near Mathamangalam today.
Taliparamba range officer P V Sanoop Krishnan led-team apprehended U Pramod (40) and C Bineesh (37) of Panapuzha near Mathamangalam.
The arrest followed a search operation conducted at 317 number house, in the third- ward of the Kadanappally grama panchayat based on a tip-off received by a forest range officer in the morning.
Python has been listed under Schedule- 1 of the 2022 Wildlife Protection Act, so capturing a python and killing it is punishable.
