Fatehpur, Dec. 20 -- Two young men were killed after being electrocuted when a high-tension power line snapped and fell into a pond in Fatehpur district on Friday morning.

The incident has triggered anger among residents, who have blamed the electricity department's alleged negligence.

According to police, the incident occurred in Majhteni village under the Khaga Kotwali police station area.

The victims were identified as Brijlal, son of Mahavir, and Raju, son of Indrapal, both residents of the village. The two had gone to a nearby pond to catch fish when an 11,000-volt high-tension line passing overhead suddenly broke and fell into the water, causing a fatal electric shock.
