Pune, Oct. 6 -- The city police have registered a case against two unidentified men on a two-wheeler who allegedly assaulted a police constable with sticks over a minor dispute.
The incident occurred near Law College on Law College Road when the duo reportedly hit a two wheeler, leading to an argument.
During the altercation, the two unidentified individuals attacked police constable Amol Katkar, who is attached to the Local Crime Branch, with sticks and fled the scene, said Deputy Commissioner of Police Krushikesh Rawale.
Katkar, who sustained a serious head injury, is being treated at a private hospital in Pune.
Following the incident, an offence has been registered against the two unidentified accused at the Deccan Police Station.
