Sirsi (Karnataka), March 17 -- A heart-stopping moment in Kasturba Nagar turned into a story of courage and relief on Monday as two-year-old Bhuvi escaped unhurt after tumbling into a 50-foot-deep open well.

The toddler was playing in the family yard when she accidentally slipped into the well. By the time her family realized she was missing around lunchtime, panic had set in. But the crisis drew an unexpected hero - local social worker Payyu Chavati.

Without hesitation, Chavati tied a rope and descended into the dark, narrow well. Inside, Bhuvi had clung to a motor pipe, her tiny clothes caught around it, holding on for over half an hour. Carefully, he reached her, and with the help of locals above, they were both pulled to safety.
