Agartala, July 28 -- In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Tripura Police today arrested two women in possession of heroin valued at approximately Rs 10 lakh here, said Superintendent of Police (West Tripura) Dr Kiran Kumar K.
He said acting on a tip-off, a special operation was conducted by personnel from the East Agartala Police Station in the Bankumari area of the city, leading to the detention of the two suspects. During the search, nine containers of heroin weighing 97 grams were recovered.
The arrested women have been identified as Rosna Begum (35) and Kolsom Begum (24), both residents of Sepahijala district. Initial investigation revealed, they had arrived here from Silchar with the consignment, which is suspected to have o...
