Bahraich, Oct. 12 -- The forest department has stepped up efforts to contain a deadly wolf threat in Bahraich district's Kaiserganj tehsil, which has claimed six lives, including four children, and injured over two dozen people since early September.
Officials confirmed that two wolves from a suspected four-member pack have been injured in recent days, while another adult wolf was shot dead earlier.
Authorities continue the hunt for the remaining sub-adult wolves, believed responsible for recent attacks.
The spate of attacks began on September 9 with the killing of a child in Paragpurwa village. In the last two days alone, seven people, including six children, were injured, and one child's body remains missing.
