Two wanted criminals injured in cross firing
Phagwara (Punjab), May 27 -- Two wanted criminals sustained injuries in cross firing with a police team near Dhilwan in Kapurthla district.
SSP Gaurav Toora told media on Tuesday that on a tip-off, the police searched the area and spotted two motorcyclists coming towards them. When the police signalled them to stop, the suspects opened fire, leading to retaliatory firing by the police which resulted in bullet injuries to the two suspects.
Toora said the arrested accused were identified as Labh Singh and Joga Singh of village Lattiawala. The police have recovered two country made pistols, three live cartridges and a motorbike from their possession. The accused have been admitted to the civil hospital.
