Imphal, April 7 -- Two children were killed and their mother seriously injured when suspected Kuki militants fired rockets, projectiles at Bishnupur district on Monday night. Police said the rockets landed at Tronglaobi Awang Leikai, Moirang destroying a house, killing the siblings who were inside the house.
The victims have been identified as a five-year-old boy and his five-month-old sister. Their mother was rushed to Raj Medicity, Imphal, in a serious condition.
The area is close to Churachandpur district, a hotbed of Kuki militancy. The Manipur crisis started in the district on May 3, 2023.
