Chandrapur, Nov. 3 -- Two teenagers drowned while swimming in the Wardha river near Warora in Maharashtra's Chandrapur district today.

The victims have been identified as Rupesh Bijendra Kulsanghe (13) and Pranay Vinod Bhoyar (15), police said.

According to reports, four friends had gone to the Turana ghat of the river around 12:30 PM for a swim on Sunday.

Police said when some women approached the ghat, the boys tried to hide in the river, during which Rupesh and Pranay entered a deep section and were swept away.

The other two friends, Umang Dharmendra Atram (15) and Krushna Chandrakant Kuijade (16), were rescued by a nearby herdsman.
