Narasaraopet, Dec. 22 -- Two activists of the ruling Telugu Desam party in Andhra Pradesh were hacked to death at Adigoppula village of Durgi mandal in Palnadu district in the wee hours on Monday.

Police said unknown miscreants waylaid and hacked to death the two siblings -- Kotta Srimamurthy (35) and his younger brother Kotta Hanumanthu (31) -- when they were going to a temple on the outskirts of the village. The miscreants chased the deceased some distance and killed them.

The police registered a case and shifted the bodies to the GGH for postmortem. Political rivalry is suspected to be the reason for the double murders. A police post was set up at the village to maintain the law and order situation.
