Lucknow, Sept. 24 -- In two separate incidents, the Uttar Pradesh capital city witnessed two suicides, one involving a politician's family member, and the other highlighting alleged police complicity in a harassment case.
In the upscale Srijan Vihar Colony of Gomtinagar, 27-year-old Kartikeya Raj Verma was found hanging in his room last night. He managed a hotel business in Ambedkar Nagar and was the brother-in-law of Samajwadi Party MLA from Basti, Kavindra Chaudhary.
The incident came to light when a household help found Kartikeya hanging and raised an alarm. Despite immediate efforts to rush him to Lohia Hospital, doctors declared him dead on arrival.
