Lucknow, Aug. 20 -- In a heart-wrenching incident, two students lost their lives after being hit by a train near the Mamapur railway crossing in the Bakshi Ka Talab (BKT) police station area of Lucknow.
The victims have been identified as Akshat Maurya (18), a resident of Faizullaganj, Madiyaon, and Karan Patel (18), from Hargao in Sitapur. Both were students of Class 12 at SR Global College and were residing in the college hostel.
According to police reports, the incident occurred late Tuesday night at around 10:30 PM, approximately 50 metres ahead of the Mamapur crossing in the direction of Sitapur. The two friends had reportedly gone out for a walk and did not return. Their bodies were later found near the tracks.
