Ballia, Sept. 25 -- Two young sisters lost their lives after being electrocuted on their way home from school in Ballia on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred in Jeera Basti (Nayi Basti) under the jurisdiction of the Sukhpura police station.
The victims, identified as Aanchal Yadav (15), studying in class ninth and Alka Yadav (12), a student of class seventh, were walking home from St Zavier School when they encountered a waterlogged stretch of road. As they attempted to cross it, a high-voltage electric wire snapped and fell into the stagnant water. Within seconds, the water was electrified, and both girls were fatally electrocuted.
