Jerusalem, June 4 -- The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Tuesday it had recorded two missiles fired from Syrian territory into northern Israel, landing in open areas.

"Following the sirens that sounded in Haspin and Ramat Magshimim at 21:36 [18:36 GMT], two projectiles were identified crossing from Syria into Israeli territory, and fell in open areas," the IDF wrote on Telegram.

No information about injuries or damage to property was provided.

Israeli broadcaster Kan reported, commenting on the incident, that those had been the first shelling of Israel from Syria since former Syrian President Bashar Assad was ousted in December 2024.
