Kolkata, June 30 -- A set of PILs was filed today in the Calcutta High Court in relation to the alleged gang rape of a woman student within the premises of a law college in south Kolkata on June 25, court sources said.

The Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed separately by one citizen, Vijay Singhal, and advocate Soumya Shuvra Roy in the division bench headed by Soumen Sen seeking an urgent hearing on the matter, which has rocked the state, both politically and socially.

The court admitted both the PILs and the hearing is expected this week, sources said.
