Moscow, Feb. 25 -- Two men aged 48 and 59 were detained at a pro-Ukrainian demonstration in the French city of Marseille on Monday evening, one of them is suspected of attacking the Russian consulate, the RMC radio reported, citing sources.

A police source told the radio station that the suspects have been placed in custody, the report said on Monday.

On Monday, an explosion occurred on the territory of the Russian diplomatic mission in Marseille. French media reported that unknown persons threw two Molotov cocktails into the consulate's garden. The Russian Embassy in Paris confirmed to Sputnik that Molotov cocktails were thrown at the Russian Consulate General in Marseille, adding that no one was injured.
