Nashik, Aug. 9 -- The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) yesterday arrested two engineers of the Water Supply Department in Dindori, Nashik district, while they were accepting a Rs 2.16 lakh bribe from a government contractor.

Deputy Engineer Yogesh Narayan Ghare and Junior Deputy Engineer Manish Kamlakar Jadhav allegedly demanded the money to approve bills for completed work under the Jal Jeevan Mission.

Acting on the contractor's complaint, the Nashik ACB laid a trap and caught the duo red-handed at the Dindori Panchayat Samiti office.

Searches are underway at the accused's residences, and Ghare's mobile phone has been seized. A case has been registered at Dindori police station, and further investigation is in progress.
