Shillong, Sept. 23 -- Two more COVID-19 patients, including a woman died in Meghalaya in the past 24 hours, taking the fatality count due to the viral infection to 42, even as 170 new COVID-19 cases were detected pushing the active cases to 2,060.

Director of Health Services (MI) Dr. Aman War informed that 68-year-old Raina Begum of Mahendraganj village, who was suffering from stroke and other ailments, died at Ampati Civil Hospital in South West Garo Hills district on Tuesday.

Another patient identified as Deepak Dutta (75) years of Circuit House Kenches Trace died in the wee hours of Wednesday morning at North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) hospital.
