Bareilly, Oct. 1 -- The police crackdown continues in connection with the recent violence in Bareilly, as two more accused, Idrees and Iqbal, were arrested following an encounter in the CB Ganj area today.

Both sustained gunshot injuries to their legs during the exchange of fire with the police.

According to officials, Idrees and Iqbal were actively involved in the violence that broke out on September 26, after Friday prayers.

The incident included stone-pelting and firing at the police.

Acting on a tip-off from an informant, the police located the duo near the Bundia Canal highway bridge.

When the police team attempted to apprehend them, the suspects opened fire.
