Mumbai, Nov. 15 -- Two labourers lost their lives and three others were injured after a sudden collapse of soil during foundation and piling work at a construction site in the Byculla area of south Mumbai today afternoon.
The incident occurred at around 2:41 pm at the Habib Mansion building site located on Hans Road, where workers were engaged in excavation-related activities.
According to sources in Mumbai Fire Brigade, the labourers were carrying out foundation and piling work when a large quantity of earth and mud gave way unexpectedly and fell on them. All five workers trapped in the collapse were immediately rescued and transported to Nair Hospital for emergency medical attention.
