Agartala, April 16 -- Two MNREGA workers lost their lives, while two others were critically injured, when a tree fell on them during digging a pond on Wednesday at Nailahabari village under Ambassa of Dhalai district in Tripura.
According to the police, a large tree unexpectedly fell during the ongoing work, resulting in the deaths of two workers and the serious injuries of two others. The deceased have been identified as Robert Malsom (22) and Juhirani Malsom.
The injured workers-Suryasa Malsom (35) and Jagatbhakta Malsom (50)-who have been admitted to the hospital in critical condition, said Ambassa Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Nirupam Datta.
