Palakkad, Dec. 29 -- Two persons were killed on the spot, when a motorbike they were riding collided with a pickup van at Melarcode near Chittilamchery in this district on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Ponnumani (60) and Santhosh (40), hailing from Kanimangalam near Nenmara in Palakkad district.
According to police, the victims were proceeding to Nenmara on the motorbike. The pickup van was enroute to Nenmara from Alathur.
The motorbike riders tried to overtake another vehicle resulting in collision with pickup van around 8 am this morning. The bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital for post-mortem.
