Shillong, Oct. 5 -- Two persons were killed and three others injured when a truck jumped the road divider and then rammed into a SUV on the opposite side of the National Highway-6 in Meghalaya's Ri-Bhoi district on Sunday night, police said.
The accident occurred at Quinine area when a truck bearing registration number ML-05L-4368 proceeding towards Assam's Guwahati lost control and rammed into a government vehicle bearing registration number ML-01-7455 moving towards Shillong, Vivekanand Singh Rathore, the district police chief of Ri-Bhoi said.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the truck lost control of his speed and rammed over into another vehicle on the opposite side of the road.
