Shahjahanpur, Feb. 9 -- A truck collided with an Ertiga car, killing two people and injuring five others, on the Farrukhabad route near Alhaganj on Monday evening.
The truck driver fled the spot, abandoning the vehicle.
The deceased has been identified as Anand Pal, a resident of Mahmand Haddaf locality in the Sadar area, and his relative Suresh Pal. Anand Pal was on his way to Farrukhabad to attend the tilak ceremony of his sister Savita, whose marriage had been fixed there.
According to sources, Anand Pal left for Farrukhabad around 5 pm along with his brother Devendra's father-in-law, Suresh Pal and five other family members. Near Kotha Manjha village in the Alhaganj area, their car was hit by a speeding truck.
