Dehradun, Jan. 29 -- A shawl vendor from Kashmir was attacked and seriously injured in the Vikasnagar area of Dehradun, polcie said on Thursday.
Police have arrested the main accused, Sanjay Yadav, claiming Wednesday's attack resulted from a dispute between the victims and the attackers.
The incident took place as 18-year-old street vendor from Kashmiri Mohammad Taavis and his accomplice were assaulted in Vikasnagar, 40 kilometres from Dehradun.
According to the allegation levelled by the victim, a group of people first enquired about his identity and then beat him and his associate with iron rods. Taavis broke his hands and his accomplice sustained a head injury. Both were admitted to a hospital.
