Imphal, April 29 -- Security forces on April 27 intercepted a truck carrying a large consignment of contraband opium at Leingangpokpi village along National Highway-37 under Jiribam Police Station in Jiribam district, police said on Wednesday.
During the operation, two individuals identified as Sukhvinder Singh of Mari Udhoke, Punjab, and Sandeep Singh Tilno of Gudiyan Purwa, Tanda Nijamali in Uttar Pradesh, were apprehended.
Police said the vehicle was stopped and thoroughly checked, leading to the recovery of two carton boxes containing approximately 51 kilograms of opium.
