Arsikere, Sept. 7 -- Two residents of Hassan were arrested after being found in possession of 4.5 kg of Ganja on board Train No. 18111 TATA-YPR Weekly Express during a special check under Operation Narcos, officials said today.
According to the Railway Protection Force (RPF), a special team intercepted the duo in the General Compartment near Arsikere while they were carrying a blue-coloured school bag. On questioning, they confessed to transporting the contraband from Kosinga Railway Station in Odisha.
The offenders were handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP), Arsikere. On checking the bag in the presence of Panchas, 4.5 kg (4506 grams) of Ganja worth about Rs. 45,000 was recovered.
