Agra (UP), Oct. 16 -- Two persons accused of rape and murder of a five-year-old girl were today awarded capital punishment by a special court in Agra district here in Uttar Prdesh, prosecution sources said here.
Prosecution sources said that Special Judge for the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Sonika Chaudhary, delivered the verdict after hearing 18 witnesses and numerous arguments.
"The five-year-old girl was brutally assaulted in the Bah police station area on March 18, 2024. The two accused abducted her, raped and murdered her. Following the sentencing, both accused were sent to jail," they said.
