Nagpur, Dec. 13 -- A heated debate erupted in the Maharashtra Legislature's Winter Session on Friday over alleged irregularities in the Buldhana district caste verification office, prompting the state government to suspend two officers.
Responding to questions raised in the House, Social Justice Minister Sanjay Shirsat announced the suspension of the two officers linked to a fake caste certificate scandal.
According to the minister, Vrushali Shinde, former Research Officer at the Buldhana Caste Verification Committee, and Anita Rathod, former Deputy Commissioner and Research Officer of the Social Justice Department, have been suspended following a departmental inquiry.
