Puri, Oct. 21 -- The festive spirit of Kali Puja at Biragobindpur Kali Peeth was marred by a tragic incident last night when two persons were electrocuted near the puja pandal.
According to sources, a Bhajan programme was underway, and a large number of devotees had gathered at the venue. Suddenly, a youth standing near the pandal came in contact with a live power wire that had fallen on the ground. As the youth cried for help, a woman rushed to rescue him, but both were electrocuted.
Locals and police personnel immediately rushed them to the District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead.
Satyabadi police have seized the bodies and are trying to establish the identities of the deceased. Following the incident, ...
