Mumbai, June 29 -- In a tragic accident, two persons drowned in the Mumbai sea while immersing their mother ashes.
Police said that the incident took place at Lotus Jetty near Haji Ali late on Saturday evening.
Santosh Vishweshwar (51), Kunal Kokate (45) and Sanjay Saravankar went into the sea to immerse their mother's ashes last night were drowned, police said today.
Sanjay Saravankar was rescued by the police. The sea was high tide and the trio had gone into the water to immerse the ashes.
Police further said that cops present there had appealed to all three not to go further into the sea because the sea was at a high tide. But all three paid no heed and decided to enter the water.
