Mumbai, May 29 -- Two people died and 20 others were injured in a major road accident, involving two private travel buses, near Ashiv Phata on the Latur-Solapur highway in Maharashtra early on Thursday.
According to preliminary reports, the accident occurred when a tourist bus coming to Latur from Pune rammed into the rear of another tourist bus on the same route. The impact was severe, leaving several passengers trapped and critically injured.
Emergency services, including police and five ambulances, reached the site immediately and began rescue and evacuation operations.
All injured passengers have been admitted to the Vilasrao Deshmukh Government Hospital in Latur for medical treatment.
