Shimla, July 12 -- In a mishap occurred today evening when a Scorpio vehicle plunged into the Shalvi river near Tandori-Bathal on the Nerua-Fedjpul main road, about 13-14 km from Nerua in Shimla district.
The accident occurred around 7:00 pm and claimed two lives on the spot.
The deceased have been identified as Kumar Suchi, a resident of Tehsil Nerua in Shimla, and Gurmel Lal from Nawanshahr district in Punjab.
There were five occupants in the vehicle, including a young boy aged around 8 to 10 years. The car veered off the road and fell approximately 80 to 100 meters into the river below.
Eyewitnesses suspect the car lost control on a sharp turn or due to slippery conditions.
