Pennsylvania, Aug. 12 -- Two people have been confirmed dead and at least ten others injured after an explosion ripped through a US Steel plant in Clairton, Pennsylvania today, local officials said.
The second victim was found during a search operation that extended into the evening, following the blast that destroyed part of the facility. The incident occurred at the US Steel Clairton site, located just outside Pittsburgh, which produces commercial coke a fuel used in steel production.
Initially, authorities had reported one fatality. The updated death toll was confirmed today by Allegheny County officials, who told NBC News that a person previously reported missing had been found dead.
