Deoria, Sept. 21 -- Two young boys have drowned in a water-filled pit in the Hatwa Tola area of Satraav village in Deoria district today. The tragedy has left the entire village in mourning.
The deceased have been identified as Bheem Yadav (9) and Kishoo Yadav (8). According to reports, the boys told their families they were going to school around 11 am, despite it being a Sunday.
When they found the school closed, they began playing with their friends. While playing, they decided to bathe in a deep pit near an abandoned brick kiln and soon began to drown. Their friends tried to rescue them but failed and ran to raise an alarm.
