Bengaluru, Aug. 24 -- Karnataka police have registered two separate cases against persons for posting a content on social media after the government announced that International Booker Prize winner Banu Mushtaq would inaugurate the Mysuru Dasara festivities.

According to police, the Kollur police station's social media monitoring cell detected a Facebook post by Jagadish Udupa on Friday evening, alleging that the government's decision was an "insult to Hindu religion" and warning of consequences. The post was found to be capable of disturbing communal harmony.

In another case, Karkala Rural police sub-inspector Sundar traced a Facebook post from the page 'Sudeep Shetty Nitte', questioning the decision to invite Mushtaq, claiming Dasara is...
