Agartala, Jan. 8 -- Two BJP workers were critically injured in an alleged assault by the supporters of its partner in the Tripura government, TIPRA Motha, on Wednesday night in Hezamara of West Tripura, inciting widespread panic and unrest in the locality.

According to police, a group of Motha supporters resorted to an attack using sticks and batons, targeting BJP workers present in the vicinity. Two party workers, identified as Hiron Debbarma and Dukhi Debbarma, suffered severe head injuries.

Police shifted the injured persons to Agartala Govt Medical College (AGMC) hospital, where one of them was stated to be critical.
