Satara, Jan. 1 -- Two labourers from Bihar were choked to death on Wednesday from the toxic fumes of a bonfire lit by them for comfort in the severe cold in Maharashtra's Satara district, police said.

The incident occurred at Ahir Mura village in Mahableshwar tehsil.

According to Mahableshwar police, the two labourers, working at a road and bridge construction site, lit the bonfire with coal in a container where the contractor made arrangements for their accomodation along with other labourers.
