Agartala, Sept. 7 -- Tripura Police arrested two persons last night accused of violently beating a dog to death in Harijoy Chowdhury Para, under Ranirbazar Police Station, on the eastern outskirts of Agartala.
The suspects have been identified as Aparesh Bhattacharjee (55), son of the late Birendra Bhattacharjee, and Bhupesh Sarkar (46), son of Sri Bhajan Sarkar, both residing in Harijoy Chowdhury Para, of West Tripura district.
These arrests followed an FIR filed by prominent animal activist Dr Ranabi Roy, a dentist who vehemently condemned the brutal act and demanded justice for the defenceless victim. The police acted swiftly, leading to the detention of the accused.
