Prayagraj, April 13 -- In a joint operation, the Sonbhadra Police, with assistance from the Prayagraj Police, arrested two accused involved in the illegal trade of codeine-based cough syrup.
The accused, identified as Vinod Verma and his son Sanskar Verma, were apprehended late Sunday night from the Pajawa intersection under the Atarsuiya Police Station area, officials said on Monday.
According to police officials, a case had already been registered against the duo for the unlawful purchase and sale of cough syrup containing codeine, a regulated substance often misused. The Sonbhadra Police had been actively searching for the accused in connection with the case.
