Jalna, Nov. 6 -- The Jalna police have arrested two men for allegedly plotting to assassinate prominent Maratha community leader Manoj Jarange Patil, whose recent statewide agitation over reservation issue has drawn major political attention.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the conspiracy was hatched during a series of secret meetings held in Beed district, police sources revealed.
Given the seriousness of the matter, Jarange Patil himself visited the Jalna police station along with his supporters to file a formal written complaint. In his complaint, he named two individuals as being actively involved in organising meetings and planning his murder.
