Srinagar, Jan. 8 -- Two civilian porters working with the Army were critically injured after slipping from slopes in the Gulmarg sector of Baramulla district on Thursday, officials said.

They said the incident took place this afternoon after two porters slipped near an Army post in Gulmarg and fell into a nallah.

After searches the two porters were rescued and evacuated to Army's 92 Base hospital in Srinagar, where their condition is stated to be critical, officials said.

The two have been identified as Liyakat Ahmad Deedard and Ishfaq Ahmad Khatana, both residents of Chandoosa, Baramulla.

Army has not issued any statement on the incident.
