Kabul/Tehran, June 13 -- Two more Afghan nationals have been executed by Iranian authorities over charges of drug trafficking. The development marks the latest incident in Iran's increased killings of Afghans witnessed since last year.

The two nationals -- Zubeid Ali-Maleki from Sheberghan and Salim from Kabul -- were executed after spending approximately three years in prison, reports Tolo News.



According to the latest data from Iran Human Rights Organisation, at least 35 Afghan citizens have so far been executed in Iran since the beginning of 2025 - an alarming figure that has heightened concerns about the legal status of Afghan migrants in Iran.
